Bro. George & Sis. Agnes Aubrey

Bro. George Russell Aubrey was born on March 29, 1856. He was saved in the early 1900's.  He and Bro. Bob Shelton obtained a boat they called 'The Gospel Boat' and held meetings up and down the Ohio River. One day in 1912 at the dock in Paducah, KY, Bro. William Sowders and his wife Bertha, went to a meeting on the boat and Bro. Sowders received the Holy Ghost. After that, Bro. Aubrey, Bro. Sowders and Bro. Shelton held meetings together at many towns, including campmeetings at Elco and Olmsted, IL.  After Bro. Jolly received the Holy Ghost in 1932, he also worked closely with Bro. Aubrey, Bro. Sowders and Bro. Shelton.  Bro. Sowders said that the Lord told him that, Bro. Aubrey was the Prophet, Bro. Shelton was the Apostle and that he (Bro. Sowders) was the Teacher in the Body of Christ. Bro. Aubrey prophesied many things that came to pass, including that Bro. Jolly would be the successor to Bro. Sowders as overseer in work of the Lord. Bro. Aubrey passed away on May 28, 1936. Bro. Jolly was one of the pallbearers.
